We receive lots of questions via the website, here are a few answers...
What are your favourite sports? Aussie Rules Footy and basketball have always been my favourites. I still play basketball with mates that I’ve played with since I was about 8 yrs old!!! Aussie Rules is such a good game to watch though, especially when the Blues are firing! Just wondering, who has the most frequent bad hair days? Well…I’d probably have to say me at the moment…it’s time for a haircut! Otherwise, Harry’s hair looks a bit like a bird’s nest most of the time. In fact, his hair’s so thick, there could be anything growing in there!!! If you get the chance, who do you go and see play live? Well getting a chance at the moment is a challenge in the first place, but a few great Melbourne bands to see live are bands like The Bamboos, Melodics, 12 Tone Diamonds and Custom Kings. Otherwise getting to see international bands like The Red Hot Chilli Peppers and artists like John Fogerty is always grand because they’re like heroes!
How often would you say you practiced? I don’t spend as much time ‘practising’ per-say at the moment due to other commitments, but rehearsals and gigs are a plenty so I’m playing lots anyway, which is sometimes better than practicing because it’s like keeping your ‘match fitness’. Having said that though, if you can find time to practice then go ahead and do it!
What would a band be without the one in the back keeping the rhythm strong so the crowd keeps pumping? Will Hull-Brown. What did you want to be when you grew up? When I was younger I played heaps of sport, particularly footy (Aussie rules that is) and basketball. They were appealing to me as careers for quite a while but once I discovered music things changed and I started putting more time and energy into playing the drums and things just progressed from there!
If you get any spare time, what do you do in it? I spend time with my wife, my family, friends, play basketball with the mighty White Fangs, spend time on the flight simulator (or flight STIMULATOR!), play drums with other bands (The Genie, Jackson Jackson), get healthy, eat well, sleep, and just be in Melbourne!
Favourite food? Anything Japanese…and Crème Broulee
Is it true that you can impersonate anyone? Ummmm…NO! It’s fun sometimes to do un-announced but as soon as people start asking you then the pressure is on and you stuff up and it’s not as good or funny! You may also notice that I tend to impersonate the same people over and over again.
What is your favourite line from a movie? “I don’t quite know how to put this, but, I’m kind of a big deal…people know me…” Ron Burgundy in ‘Anchorman’
Who are the White Fangs? The White Fangs are a ridiculously good looking pro basketball team from the East. But, the name comes from a dark underground figure who hales from the Great Western shores of Victoria, that is, Warrnambool. White Fang is alive, and by god you better respect him!
Have you ever won anything (aside from an ARIA)? My wife! Plus other assorted sporty things.
Dogs or Cats? Dogs! They feel more like a part of the family to me. Anyway, I’m allergic to cats. When I’m around them I get itchy eyes and sneeze a lot, it’s bloody annoying!
PC or Mac? PC!!!!!!!!! Come on Jumps…and Ollie…and Harry...and Felix…and I know the list goes on for people who have Macs. Come join us in the happy land of the PCs. Life will be so much more worth living!
